LOCATION
The Isle of Harris, a jewel in the Scottish Islands
The Isle of Harris is a jewel in the Scottish islands. Situated on the Outer Hebrides, you will be enthralled by its stunning white beaches, azure blue seas, rocky headlands, amazing sunsets, and glorious mountain ranges. You will find wildlife in abundance (otters, eagles and many others), and a deep cultural heritage dating back thousands of years.
There is very little light pollution on the Outer Hebrides, so the night sky, if the clouds disappear, gives an excellent show. With a little luck, and especially in the winter months, you may be fortunate to see the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights).
You will appreciate a much slower pace of life, a place with little traffic, and somewhere where you almost always find a parking place!
Ceol na Mara Guest House is situated on the east coast of Harris, and is one mile outside Tarbert which is where the ferry sails to and from Harris and Uig on the Isle of Skye. We are approximately 400m from the main road (A859, the Tarbert/Leverburgh road) where you will see our signs for Ceol na Mara. We would recommend that you do not use our postcode in your Satnav as that will take you to the wrong part of Direcleit – please use the map provided and our direction signs from the main road.
